Movember

Truth be told, I’ve always secretly wished that moustaches would come back in style.  I knew that given the opportunity, I had perfect recipe for a killer stash.  When my good friend Richard notified me of his interests in Movember I knew this was my time to shine.   The cause, raising money and awareness for prostate cancer.  Before this month I wasn’t very well informed about prostate cancer, and after a bit of research I was stunned at how many men are affected.

I joined the Saucy Staches, which is a group run by the very tasty Duff’s Famous Wings.  Having my close friends join the group made this month long moustache extravaganza way better.  To this date we’ve raised over $5,000!!!!!!!!!!!  and we would welcome any donation large or small, every dollar helps!

Click here to DONATE to our team!!

It’s kind of sad that this month is coming to an end, it’s been interesting to say the least.

Cheers and thanks always for stopping by,

Janna, you’re the bomb for coming along and helping us out
Very rare appearance for me on the blog. The logo finally has more meaning

Five guys with moustaches wandering the streets…….it was time for some classier shots
We present to you the Milk Moustache Moustache

If you must know, we used whipping cream because it was either that or glue. Not sure if anyone has ever tasted this, but I highly recommend it if you want to suffer a little bit

Moustaches demand attention
Raising money and awareness for a great cause felt amazing. Looking ridiculous and sharing this experience with my closest friends was priceless!

Richard E - I actually smiled start to finish while reading the post.

We decided this was the year we would finally grow our staches and I couldn’t been happier about it. An entire month of looking ridiculous and feeling amazing at the same time. Thanks to Assaf, Mitch, Jon, Brandon, Loren, Steven and everyone else who joined The Saucy Staches this year.

The Saucy Staches have managed to raise over $5600 with a few days to go and I truly appreciate each and every donation.

This is one photo shoot I will never forget.

Jon - I never thought growing a moustache could be so much fun. Walking around Kensington was the most fun I’ve had in awhile, and it is that much more meaningful knowing it was all for a good cause. I feel some of these pictures could really be 2012 Movember PR shots.

Thanks Assaf for taking the time to do the shoot and processing the pics, and thanks to Richard, Mitchel and Brandon (and Assaf as well) for looking as ridiculous as I did.

Janna - What a great afternoon! I was so happy to join you and watch! The milk moustaches were my favourite. I can agree with Jon in the fact that it was one of the most fun things I’ve done in a while.
As always, your work is awesome!

Rhiannon - Oh. My God.

:)

Nicole + Dale

I knew these two were special but it really kicked home during the speeches.  Everyone had nothing but the nicest things to say about them.   This made me even happier to be there capturing the beginning of the next chapter in their lives.  It’s very rare that I don’t go off-site for pictures, but honestly there was just so much to use in this beautiful house!  I especially love the pool pictures with the sun glaring in.  Having beautiful fall scenery in the backyard also made my job very easy!

There’s no way I could describe this wedding in a few words, but I’ll try with a few pictures!

Before we get to the pics, I have to give a few shout outs.  First of all to the bridal party for tearing up the dance floor!  Lew from Engaging Images,  I can never say enough about how awesome your pictures are (a bit jealous).  The boys from DMS video,  it’s always a blast working with you guys.

thanks always for stopping by:)

Cheers,

I really enjoyed the semi-nervous look Nicole was giving me during the little video segment. Alongside the skilled professionals, Gavin and Kirby from DMS (also, check out the those socks)
without cameras it looks much different
Love those vintage wedding pics

It’s not often I have so much time with the bride, I was more then happy to full take advantage

Dale arrives, looking very sharp

I love how Dale’s niece was such a huge part of the wedding

This was the beginning of a crazy party

I honestly have about 10 pictures that look almost exactly like this….they’re great

What an awesome wedding! Nicole & Dale I can’t thank you enough for letting me capture it!

Jessica + Jeff

There’s nothing better then shooting an engagement shoot for my close friends.  The second they got engaged they were left with no choice but to have me take their engagement pictures.  Sucks for you guys!!!

A few years ago me and a few buddies went on a little road trip and I remember it so well because it was the night after Jeff met Jessica.  He was going on and on about meeting this really awesome girl at some very classy bar.  Of course he couldn’t wipe the smile off his face.  Fast forward a few years and here we are doing their engagement shoot.  Jeff has been one of the my closest friends since we began high school together and he is now one of the luckiest guys in the world, he found one of the most genuine, funniest and coolest girls around.   I don’t know how he pulled it off, because she’s way cooler then him hahahaha

Thanks always for stopping by

Cheers

I sensed a little bit of nervousness but that quickly wore off

If you know them, then you know that they

Nice kickboxing moves Jess

Real nice guys, this was so not my idea

This shot has been in my mind for years and finally I had the chance to pull it off. Try finding a merry go round in Toronto
Now to recreate how they met (thanks to the great people at The Madison Pub for allowing us to shoot there)

then we got down to some serious business, in the early afternoon
Love you guys and I can’t wait to celebrate next year!

Kimberly + Benjamin

I really can’t think of a better time of year to roam the streets then now.  The weather was…..fall like….but I honestly can’t be any happier with how this engagement shoot turned out.  Their was no lack of colour as we ventured around Kensington Market.  Kim + Benji, were so much fun to hang out with.  I could’ve easily spent another few hours with them. As time went by, they became even more funny and wacky.

I’m so excited for the wedding!

Thanks always for stopping by and I’m sorry for the little blog break! more to come soon

Cheers,

I was very happy right of the bat with their clothing choices, really complimented our backgrounds

I left almost all the pictures in colour due to the cool backgrounds
and then we found this…….
I don’t know what this was, but it made for a really interesting background

Yeah, awesome!
hahahaha, I got a huge kick out of this set
The whole set was worth this picture and these smiles

Love these two
Make sure to overlook the wet behinds, a result of previous set of pics

When it comes to couples, you guys were the complete package! thanks for being so cool and fun

Brian - Great set of pics, and what amazing colour! Especially love the one against the plain blue wall.

October 27, 2011 - 2:23 pm

Richard E - The shots in front of the blue wall area actually amazing!

Looks like this shoot was a ton of fun and the locations are awesome. Keep it up.

P.s. How cool would it be if there was actually an Assaf Friedman streetcar?
