Joelle + Craig

I’m kicking off the wedding season on a very high note. From the second I stepped into the Warehouse I knew this was going to be a very special day.  I was amazed when I first saw Joelle’s bouquet, it really said a lot about her personality.  As for Craig, his family is a huge indication of how humble he is.  Heck, I knew they were unbelievable by the first five minutes of our meeting.  I can’t give a big enough shout out to their families.  They were just so incredibly nice and sincere.

As you’ll soon see, the day was filled with countless heartfelt moments.  Joelle’s father seeing her for the first time really sticks out for me.  We had a blast taking outdoor pics, they were up for anything.  Also give them both credit, as they braved the cold for almost two hours for our outdoor pics (please remind me to bring my gloves next time).

First of all, have to thank the special people at The Warehouse.   It’s an unbelievable venue and every time I step foot in there it’s amazingly different.  A huge shout out goes to my man Lew of Engaging Images, always a pleasure to shoot with such a pro.  The boys from DMS video, always a pleasure to shoot with you (I seriously better see a teaser soon, that’s a threat). Marsha Baker of Cherry and Baker event planners, for doing such an amazing job making sure the day flowed smoothly……you know how much I look up to you.

Possibly the most creative bouquet I’ve seenmoments like this don’t happen very oftenCouldn’t get enough of their smilesI had to throw in another shot of this bouquet, check out those detailsIt was only a matter of time until we unleashed the fun sideI swear I’m not that funnyI remembered walking by this several times and not even realizing the great photoshop jobthese guys really know how to party……more to comeThis is definitely up there up as one of the best first kiss shots that I’ve gottenThe Warehouse looked unbelievable! love that venue so muchThe slideshow of engagement pics.  Followed by a live feed of the wedding, very cool!A crowd that’s very eager for a crazy horaPriceless!“Some day, when I’m awfully low,
When the world is cold,
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight”They had all major food groups.  Fresh, right out of the oven cookies.  A huge candy station including pop rocks.  To top it off they had the best and simplest of all midnight foods…..grilled cheese.Going through the pics put a huge smile on my face.  I can’t say enough great things about their families and friends, so warm and inviting.  Craig’s mother even took the time to call me after the wedding, and had the nicest things to say.  That meant so much!  Joelle & Craig, you guys are very lucky to have each other.  I can’t thank you enough for having me capture your special day with you!

David Reiff - Hi Assaf,
As the father of the groom, I want to thank you for the incredible way in which you performed your duties at Craig & Joelle’s wedding.
At our first meeting at which time we saw your portfolio I recognised not only your talent, but you’re enthusiasm for your work.
We were immediately convinced that you were the right Man for this most important task.
I needed no more convincing when I saw how you managed and worked on the wedding day.
With the incredible pressure and responsibility of “shooting” a wedding you were cool, calm and above all, your unbelievable attitude and professionalism made us all feel so relaxed knowing that you had it all under control.
The images that we have seen capture the moment and much more.
You are a very talented young man with a gift that will take you all the way.
I wish you luck, and if you need any form of endorsement please don’t hesitate in using us as a reference.
Best regards
David

Alanna + Adam

With the winter we’ve been having, it was tough to get in many wintery engagement shoots.  We had planned for months that this was going to be the day the shoot would take place.  The winter gods took notice and graced our presence with extremely cold weather.  Of course we’re troopers but honestly you guys don’t even know, it was actual winter cold!! As you can see, by reading this blog post it means that we’ve made it and it was worth every second.  I love how the pictures turned out.

To me being a part of Alanna and Adam’s wedding means the world. We’ve known each other for so long.  Although in Adam’s case, he’s seen me at my best during a bachelor party we attended together in Las Vegas last year. Alanna and Adam, I have to say that you guys were great during the shoot.  I always strive to get those genuine million dollar smiles, and it was so easy with you two.  You’ve got something very special going on and I can’t wait to be a part of your big day.

I haven’t done a double blog week in so long! but in reality I owe you guys for taking all that time off

I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend and thanks always for stopping by,

Cheers,

Adam is quite the gentlemanthose are the smiles I was referring to!We headed inside for some relief from the cold and managed to squeeze in some escalator funlove this set of pics, just as the sun was warming us upLove this!A small reminder that they couldn’t exhale before a picture, just so we wouldn’t have this effectGuys you were too much fun, this only raises my expectations for the wedding:)

Jayme + Stephen

Ahhh, it’s about time to start a new chapter.  Like previous years, the blog was due for a new look.   I was really looking for something simplistic and bright and voila!!!

Next topic of discussion, I owe you guys so many blog posts.  I had sufficient time off to recuperate and now it’s time to get down to business.  I wanted to start off the year with a super fun and energetic couple.  I made sure to do everything I could to capture their true personalities and this in turn only got me even more excited for the wedding.  Jayme and Stephen, you’ve set the bar high!

I hope everyone had an great winter vacation and a enjoyable surprisingly mild January,

Cheers and thanks always for stopping by,

Carly + Matthew

I will admit that sometimes I can make a scene look better then it actually is using a bit of post processing magic.  On this occasion it was the other way around, we were treated to one of the nicest fall scenes I’ve ever encountered.  The sun was shining bright and giving us some unbelievable back light, leaves were still on the trees and the wind was gusting just enough to blow those leaves around us.   Since that forest is very close to my parent’s house, I even went back a week later with the dogs and was amazed to see that there no leaves left.   I’m very thankful for changing seasons because they make these scenes possible.  Photography for me wouldn’t be the same if we had one season all year around.

Carly & Matthew, what can I say? I had such a blast getting to know you guys over this period.  Thinking back, even the engagement shoot was incredible.  We were treated to the best summer weather and I honestly didn’t expect for us to get lucky twice…..but what do you know.  Your ultra genuine smiles alone would have been enough for great pictures.  Ohhh and the first look was the best ever.

Shout outs go to my man Lew from Engaging Images for always capturing so many amazing moments.   The boys from DMS doing their thing and doing it well, always a pleasure to shoot with you guys.  The Hazelton Manor for looking great and having some nice settings for family pictures.  Ricky Bessner from Relax: special events for making the day flow so smoothly.  Alicia Moretto who came out from Humber to check out how this whole crazy wedding photography business operates, hope it was a great experience.

And for the biggest shout out, YOU GUYS!  thanks for being so awesome and checking the blog:)  Don’t hesitate to let me know what you guys thinks!  All comments are appreciated!

Cheers and thanks always for stopping by,

This is how every bride should show up in the morning

Very cool custom made tissue box
Jodi, you looked so busy on your blackberry. I had to find out why

Matthew arrived to a very warm reception
Hands down, this was the most emotional first look I’ve witnessed

The instant Carly & Matthew saw each other, everyone’s eye filled with tears

Fast forward to an unbelievable fall scene

I had to sneak in at least one black and white shot in there

We had a blast during the engagement shoot doing this, so it had to be repeated
Blue Steel

Funny enough, there was actually a movie playing
The projector allowed me to get these gems

The gentleman, who were about to get some awesome groomsmen gifts

Some more chair reactions I couldn’t keep to myself

Love this picture, it’s almost as if they’re in their own world

Sweet table was worthy of a shout out
Ohhhhhhh and of course what I would call the best late night food of them all…Grilled cheese!!!!!
A few cheers to end an unbelievable evening. Carly & Matthew, I had such a blast shooting your wedding (also we can’t forget the engagement shoot). I still can’t believe that scene in the forest. It was a such a pleasure being a part of the festivities. THANK YOU!

Richard E - Amazing blog for what looks like an extremely relaxed and super fun day. Intense gaming (well done Jodi), beautiful fall colours, sneaking into a theater, super cool shoes, tons of fun and carbs at the end of the night. Looks like a pretty sweet day to me.

Keep up the amazing blogging!
